Torakku: Raw Draft

Back when my editor first told me that a shounen as big as Super Nova might be the wrong way for me, I started scribbling raw drafts for the early Torakku. That's how these two were born. I intended for them to be the main characters and named them Shina and Kou.

I didn't use them because they're "typical shoujo". It would've ended as one of those romances that you can find just about everywhere in the manga world, with boring characters and no depth at all. I wanted someone crazy as the main character, someone fresh that would immediately stand out in a Japanese school. Then I came up with Ringo - she's everything I love and never found in a shoujo heroine.

Now these two will be minor characters in Torakku, and probably (just) childhood friends.
